Euro NCAP five stars + ANCAP five stars still not enough? Geely insists on using a 50 km/h central pole crash to prove its strength again! Compared with the test gap in national standards, and compared with the industry's default standard of 35 km/h, behind this "suicidal" challenge are 1,562 safety patents and the confidence built by a 2-billion-yuan laboratory.

The world's highest test standard! Geely Galaxy E5 successfully challenges a 50 km/h frontal central pole crash
A frontal central pole crash simulates an accident in which a vehicle collides head-on with vertical columnar objects such as utility poles, roadside trees, and highway gantries. Because the overlap area between the pole and the vehicle body is small, it easily causes severe deformation of the front compartment structure, and can even intrude heavily into the passenger compartment. In addition, because the front compartment of new energy vehicles is relatively empty, after high-voltage and low-voltage systems suffer a central pole impact, they are more likely to cause short circuits and even fire and other safety issues.
For frontal central pole crashes, there is no mandatory requirement in national standards, and the test standard usually adopted in the industry is 35 km/h. Geely Galaxy E5, however, adopted the world's most difficult and highest-standard method for testing, directly challenging 50 km/h, with impact energy increased by 104% compared with 35 km/h.

The final test results show that after completing the 50 km/h frontal central pole crash, the Geely Galaxy E5 met the test requirements in all dimensions, including functional performance, body structure, new energy safety, and occupant protection, and the test was a complete success. Among these, the hazard lights automatically turned on, E-CALL automatically dialed the rescue phone number, the door handles were in an automatically unlocked and popped-out state, all four doors could be opened normally without tools, and the high-voltage power supply had already been cut off, providing strong support for post-accident rescue. At the same time, the passenger compartment structure remained intact, and the battery pack showed no leakage, smoke, or fire, providing occupants with valuable escape opportunities. In addition, the vehicle airbags deployed normally, the contact position between the airbags and the dummy heads was normal, the seat belts pretensioned normally, and the injury values for all body parts of the two dummies also reached excellent results for the Euro NCAP rigid wall crash condition.
Previously, models such as Zeekr 007 and Zeekr 7X also successfully passed frontal central pole crashes at a speed of 50 km/h. As a pure electric SUV in the 150,000-yuan class, the Geely Galaxy E5's above-standard safety performance once again interprets Geely's "safety equality": different brand models may have different configurations, but safety standards must be treated equally, and safety must be equal for all.
"Global dual five-star" safety certification! The Aegis Battery Safety System protects EV safety
In addition to successfully challenging the 50 km/h central pole crash test, the Geely Galaxy E5 had previously also obtained the highest safety certification of "global dual five-star," becoming the only Chinese-brand pure electric SUV in the 150,000-yuan class to obtain both Euro NCAP and ANCAP "dual five-star" safety ratings, with its safety globally authoritatively verified.

As a global vehicle, the Geely Galaxy E5 is equipped with Geely's self-developed and self-produced Aegis short-blade battery. From the very beginning of research and development, it aimed at the global market layout, simultaneously developing and testing left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive vehicles, ensuring that the model can fully meet the regulatory requirements of 89 countries and cover seven major global regions.
Behind the Geely Galaxy E5's "above-standard" safety performance, the Aegis Battery Safety System "played an indispensable role." The Aegis Battery Safety System is a technology uniquely created by Geely and exclusive to Geely Galaxy. It is also a complete "no-blind-zone" safety protection system based on the battery and integrating architecture, the whole vehicle, intelligent control, and the cloud, achieving high-standard battery safety protection through the integration of software and hardware, and solving battery safety issues from the system level.

Since its release in 2023, Geely Galaxy has relied on models such as the Galaxy E5, Galaxy L6, Galaxy L7, and Galaxy E8 to carry out a series of public tests of the "Aegis Battery Safety System" covering the cell level, battery pack level, and whole vehicle level. Whether it is the eight-needle simultaneous puncture of battery cells, or challenges such as high-speed three-vehicle chain collisions and devil's cross collisions for the whole vehicle, Geely Galaxy has successfully passed every above-standard safety test with outstanding performance far exceeding industry standards, bringing consumers in various mainstream new energy market segments a high-standard, high-performance "safety equality" experience.
