Intelligence covers four high-frequency scenarios: commuting, going home, purification, and tunnels, automatically linking navigation, air conditioning, entertainment, and other functions (some functions pending approval for launch). Physical safety reaches the pinnacle. The boron steel closed-loop cage body covers key areas such as the ABC pillars and roof rails, with an industry-rare application of boron steel in the C-pillar. The front and rear longitudinal beams adopt a soft-hard zoned design, providing crumple energy absorption + hard-zone cabin protection in a collision. SPOC body collision sliding force diversion and the "wheel detachment to save lives" design (originating in 1991), a inherited secret method, ensure the integrity of the occupant cabin. The B-pillar adopts a rare dual-zone dual-process approach (TRB variable thickness + TWB laser welding). All models feature a collapsible steering column (120 mm collapse stroke), WHIPS head and neck protection system seats (reclining and sinking to absorb energy in a collision), and rear seat energy absorption ranges far exceeding regulations (covering the head and back).
Intelligent safety prevents trouble before it happens. Pilot Assist is available across the full speed range from 0-130 km/h, maintaining distance and keeping the vehicle centered in its lane. The City Safety urban safety system protects day and night, effectively mitigating/avoiding collisions with vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals. EMA emergency avoidance assists the driver in steering to avoid danger and straightening the vehicle, avoiding secondary risks. At the same time, the cloud calculates abnormal conditions of the vehicle ahead in real time and sends warnings to the vehicle behind 20 seconds in advance, turning danger into safety.
The healthy and safe cabin makes every breath purer. The dual-effect enhanced system removes more than 95% of PM2.5, more than 99.9% of pollen, and more than 97% of viruses. Cabin PM2.5 concentration can be lower than 5 μg/m³ (far below Beijing and Shanghai levels), and VOC control far exceeds national standards, with an additional 11 substances under control. In terms of materials, Volvo is at the forefront, with NVH foam filling (the same material used in pillows), skincare-grade sealant, and control of more than 6,000 prohibited and restricted substances, far exceeding the six types required by national standards. SSD water-soluble damping pads have extremely low harmful substances. Finally, there is 65°C high-temperature cube cabin full VOC inspection, and strict limits on harmful gas concentrations in airbags.
Flagship power with peace of mind, transparent consumption services
The all-new S90 T8 plug-in hybrid model demonstrates a top-level balance of performance and efficiency. Equipped with a 228 kW high-power 2.0T engine, its fuel consumption when depleted is 3.1% lower than that of the B5 gasoline version. It can output a maximum power of 335 kW and a peak torque of 709 N·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, surpassing 3.0T power. At the same time, CLTC pure electric range is 102 km, meeting daily commuting needs; combined range reaches up to 1,412 kilometers, bidding farewell to range anxiety.
Volvo extends its safety philosophy to the entire user lifecycle, pioneering the industry's "transparent consumption, transparent service."
