This time, Wey played a bold move with the V8X.

One model, two versions, five trim levels, covering a price band from 230,000 to 310,000 yuan. But what makes people most conflicted is that at the 266,800-yuan price point, the Luxury Family Edition Ultra and the Sport Edition Ultra are actually priced exactly the same.

The same 800V platform, the same 66.6 kWh large battery, the same 402 km pure electric range, the same closed dual-chamber air suspension plus EDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers. Even the limited-time benefit price is exactly the same, 266,800 yuan.

This is not a relationship between higher and lower trims. This is a multiple-choice question, and what it tests is not your budget, but your lifestyle.

The Luxury Family Edition Ultra takes "living day to day" to the extreme

Wey defines this car as "elegant and unhurried, carrying life." It sounds abstract, but every line on the equipment list is concrete.

A body length of 5,125 mm and a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. Sitting in the rear seats, the legroom is at a level where an adult can still cross their legs with plenty of room to spare. The trunk can fit 12 20-inch suitcases, and the whole car has 40 storage spaces. When a family of three goes out, everyone can find a convenient place to put their things.

25 speakers throughout the car, with a peak power of 2,440 watts. There is the segment's only wireless charging spot on the door panel; put your phone on it and it charges, and when you get out it will remind you not to forget it. The seats use infrared-reflective genuine leather, and after exposure to the sun in summer, the surface temperature can be 15 to 20 degrees lower than ordinary genuine leather. There are two small tables in the second row, a streaming media rearview mirror, and 21-inch wheels paired with quiet tires.

These things are not a "spec sheet" concept; they are the felt experience of every day and every trip. What Wey has done on the Luxury Family Edition is very simple: everything your family members will use, give it all to you, and give it well.

The Sport Edition Ultra is not a "looks-only" job

The other direction, the Sport Edition Ultra.

The body is shortened to 5,040 mm, and the wheelbase is shortened to 2,968 mm. Losing 85 mm of body length and 82 mm of wheelbase buys a more compact stance and more agile handling response. This is not a "pseudo-sport version" that is done after swapping on a blacked-out package; it has made real changes at the physical level.

Also at 266,800 yuan, the Sport Edition Ultra swaps the 1.5T engine for a 2.0T. 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds with a full charge, and 4.7 seconds with a depleted charge, with only 0.2 seconds of degradation. The experience of range-extender vehicles under depleted charge, where they are "a dragon with power and a worm without it," does not exist in this car.

The chassis has been optimized for roll rigidity, and the shock absorber valve system has been rematched. It is paired with 21-inch wheels and red calipers, plus a glossy black sporty styling package. The interior is a gray-red contrasting color scheme, the seats are wrapped in suede-like material, red stitching runs through the cabin, and the seatbelts are red as well.

This car is not meant for track driving. Its sporty feel is the kind of composure that remains calm even when fully loaded with family on a winding mountain road. Wey calls this "elegant galloping," and I think that is quite accurate.

How to choose? It depends on what kind of life you want

The Luxury Family Edition Ultra is suitable for someone who picks up their kids every day, goes on family outings on weekends, and cares about every family member's riding experience. Every word "comfort" you see on the equipment list will ultimately turn into that line from your family: "This car is really comfortable to ride in."

The Sport Edition Ultra is suitable for someone who does not want to give up driving pleasure just because they have started a family. What you want is the same spatial practicality, but every time you hold the steering wheel, you can still find a bit of rhythm that belongs to you.

There is no superiority or inferiority between the two, only left and right. Wey has handed the choice to users by pricing them the same. Whatever you want your life to look like, choose the corresponding car. This is probably the true meaning of the "smart driving and control five-seat flagship": a good car should not be the result of compromise, but an extension of your lifestyle.
