We often say that there are now many pure electric family sedans under 150,000 yuan, but as the price threshold drops, many cars also hide quite a few "pitfalls," such as reducing performance output in exchange for longer range, simplifying comfort features to enhance intelligence, and so on... I wonder if any of you have stepped into these pits. However, the two cars we picked today - the BYD Qin L and the Changan Qiyuan A07 - in my opinion, will almost certainly not bring you such concerns. Of course, comparisons cannot simply focus on the top trim of each model, but should better match all needs, including budget, when making a judgment. Today we have chosen the Qin L EV 545km Excellence Edition and the Changan Qiyuan A07 Blue Whale Pure Electric Edition 625 Luxury. The former, as a B-segment car, is priced at 129,800 yuan; while the latter, although a C-segment car, can currently enjoy a promotional price of 128,900 yuan during the 618 period (ending May 31). Please consult your local dealer for details.

Of course, even for outings, both cars come standard with fast charging, and both deliver impressive performance in under half an hour. Among them, the Qiyuan A07, by being equipped with CATL cells and adopting a liquid-cooled Golden Bell Jar battery, not only received the highest five-star safety rating in C-NCAP crash tests, but also supports 3C fast charging with a maximum power of 170kW, meaning in the time it takes to buy a drink, it can complete a 30-80% recharge in 15 minutes and add more than 310km of range. The Qin L's Blade Battery uses a direct cooling mode and also guarantees safety. Although its charging is not as fast, through fast charging with a maximum power of 103kW, it can still complete a 30-80% recharge in 24 minutes and add more than 270km of range.

More importantly, the outstanding performance of both cars above is not achieved at the expense of reduced performance. The Qiyuan A07's 190KW electric drive obtained through the Smart New Blue Whale gives the vehicle a 0-100 km/h acceleration performance of 7.3 seconds, making it easier to handle situations such as highway overtaking. Through the IEM3.0 full-domain smart power management system, it can also balance performance and efficiency. Meanwhile, the 160kW motor that the Qin L gains from the e-Platform 3.0, although slightly weaker in power and acceleration performance, still maintains 7-second-level acceleration and is more than capable for daily driving.

Having addressed range, charging, and performance, let us now look at the space that affects the comfort experience of everyone in the car. In this part, the two cars do differ to some extent. After all, the Qiyuan A07 is a C-segment car measuring 4905/1910/1480mm, while the Qin L is a B-segment car measuring 4720/1880/1495mm. What is even better is that the Qin L's 2820mm wheelbase can already ensure leg comfort for adult passengers in the second row, with no pressure on headroom either; while the Qiyuan A07, after all, has a 2900mm wheelbase, and combined with its advantages in length and width, will be even more spacious between occupants when fully loaded. Even its liftback structure not only optimizes luggage loading and unloading, but can also bring some improvement to the headroom experience through its large curvature.

Speaking of ride comfort and convenience, both cars provide full leather seats, and both have generously sized large sunroofs, dual-zone climate control with rear air vents, and even 8 speakers that can improve the riding feedback. Among them, the Qin L's advantages lie in the second row having foldable armrests and an openable sunroof; while the Qiyuan A07's advantages lie not only in its 2.1㎡ panoramic sunroof with 99% UV blocking and an electric memory tailgate for more convenient storage, but even more in that it offers front-seat heating and ventilation, allowing comfort in winter and summer to go one step further.

Moreover, besides being spacious and comfortable, the cabins of these two cars also both offer excellent smart entertainment support. Both provide relatively large touchscreens and support rich mobile ecosystem connectivity, can perform continuous voice dialogue operations, and even have in-car KTV. For example, the Qin L equipped with DiLink100 has a 12.8-inch large screen that can rotate, supports split-screen display, and achieves 100% mobile ecosystem compatibility; while the Qiyuan A07 even has a 15.4-inch 2.5K floating screen, which can not only achieve seamless connectivity through HUAWEI HiCar/Carlink, but also directly use voice to operate seat temperature, windows, and other accessory functions. Moreover, its Tianyu cockpit also has key support from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, resulting in higher smoothness under multi-command interaction and multifunctional use.

Final Thoughts
From riding to entertainment, from range to performance, the Changan Qiyuan A07 and BYD Qin L can be said to have set benchmarks for pure electric cars under 150,000 yuan. But if we are to say which benchmark is higher, the winner this time should be the Qiyuan A07, which is positioned in the C-segment market yet sold at the same price. Of course, this "win-loss relationship" and "which one suits you better" are not absolute. If you want to choose the one you like most, you still need to test drive them yourself to know.
