On January 2, the second "China Innovation and Technology Gala" (abbreviated as CCTV "Science Gala") presented by China Media Group was broadcast, and BYD was once again invited to appear at the Science Gala. This year's Science Gala brought together academicians from both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, top scientists, artists, and industry leaders, covering technology hotspots and cutting-edge innovation achievements such as embodied intelligence, particle physics, hyperspectral remote sensing, and new energy vehicles, building the grandest stage for new quality productive forces.
Yang Dongsheng, Senior Vice President of BYD and President of the Automotive New Technology Research Institute, shared the latest intelligent technology achievements and people-oriented technology philosophy through extreme scenario demonstrations and technical explanations, reflecting BYD's corporate heritage of technology as king.
At the gala site, through two extreme scenarios, "three-sided pinch parking" and "narrow road blade-edge challenge," the ability of assisted driving to solve travel pain points was intuitively presented. Vehicles equipped with BYD's God's Eye assisted driving system passed smoothly through autonomous perception and decision-making without the need for driver operation. Behind this performance, BYD's self-developed Xuanji architecture and God's Eye assisted driving system played a core role. Moreover, the system also connected the drive, steering, and braking systems, relying on a self-developed high-computing-power central brain to plan the optimal path, achieving intelligent-electric integrated control, making flexible passage in extreme scenarios a reality.
Yang Dongsheng said at the Science Gala that safety is the core of BYD's intelligent technology research and development. The God's Eye assisted driving system upgrades driving safety from "relying on individual vigilance" to "relying on system certainty." The goal of assisted driving is not to "replace people," but to become the strongest guardian of safe travel.
What technology guards is not only traffic safety, but also making everyone feel at ease and reassured when using it. In July 2025, BYD took the lead in launching the industry's first intelligent parking guarantee commitment. At the same time, BYD practiced the strategy of "assisted driving as standard for everyone," bringing high-level intelligent driving down to the 70,000-yuan-class Seagull model, driving the industry's installation rate of assisted driving in new energy vehicles to triple compared with the beginning of the year.
Technological breakthroughs stem from continuous research and development investment. BYD has established a dedicated assisted driving team of more than 5,000 people, and will invest more than 100 billion yuan in future intelligentization. As of December 2025, the cumulative number of models equipped with "God's Eye" exceeded 2.5 million, forming China's largest vehicle-cloud database. The effective mileage generated by the assisted driving system every day has exceeded 150 million kilometers, covering a variety of road conditions. In the field of AI algorithms, BYD is promoting an "AI agent + world model" solution, responding to rare errors through virtual scenario training, and forming an iterative closed loop of "data-research and development-implementation."
Assisted driving and intelligent cockpits together constitute the core of automotive intelligentization. Cars today are no longer just means of transportation, but "intelligent agents" in the era of the Internet of Everything. BYD is promoting the upgrade of cars from "means of transportation" to "life partners," realizing functions such as drone linkage and smart home control through the model of "deep self-development + open ecosystem."
