Recently, Geely's May overseas sales were announced, with overseas export sales exceeding 85,000 units, setting a new record high and achieving a year-on-year increase of 184%.
Earlier in April, Geely's overseas new energy vehicle sales increased by 624.5% year-on-year, retaining its position as the fastest-growing Chinese new energy vehicle exporter.
In segmented markets, Geely's sales performance continued to flourish across multiple areas. Among them, after only 14 months in the Australian market, Geely's cumulative deliveries exceeded 10,000 units, making it one of the fastest-growing Chinese automakers locally; meanwhile, in the Brazilian market, sales climbed to 4,000+ units, setting a new record for its highest monthly sales in that country. In the Mexican market, cumulative sales from January to April reached 16,000+, hitting a historic high.
The Geely EX2 ranked TOP1 in B-segment hatchback new energy vehicle sales in multiple markets including Mexico, Indonesia, and Costa Rica; the Geely EX5 was the quarterly sales champion in the pure electric SUV-C segment in multiple countries including Australia, the UAE, and Uruguay. Zeekr's 7X and 009 became segment sales champions, with the Zeekr 7X once again topping the Australian market, surpassing the long-dominant Tesla Model Y.
Facing the pressure of surging orders, Geely relies on its Ningbo export hub while simultaneously deploying roll-on/roll-off ships, container ships, and international railway freight trains for sea-land intermodal transport, making every effort to ensure vehicle deliveries. The head of international business at Geely Automobile Group's logistics center said in an interview that multiple new transport routes have been urgently added, forming a capacity resource layout of 4 major railway ports and 6 major seaports, equipped with two self-owned roll-on/roll-off ships, while also opening multiple new cross-border transport dedicated lines, continuously supplementing various capacity resources, and stably shipping nearly 10,000 new vehicles per month to core European ports. The China-Europe Railway Express Geely dedicated train operates on a regular basis, with transport time shortened by 40 days compared to sea freight. In the future, in response to the explosive growth of overseas sales, Geely will continue to expand its overseas transport scale and further improve vehicle delivery times.
The surge in Geely's overseas sales intuitively demonstrates Geely's strong product strength and the implementation of its localized layout, and further reflects the strong capabilities of Chinese automobiles in the fields of high-end going-global and technology going-global.
