These past two days, there’s news in the auto industry worth paying attention to: Chinese smart electric vehicle brand AITO Wenjie has officially entered into a partnership with ADM, a leading luxury car dealer in the UAE. Wang Jin, president of Seres Automobile’s Overseas BU, and ADM CEO Syed Faiz Karim signed on behalf of both parties — this is not just two names put on paper, but also means that the path for Chinese smart cars going global is shifting from “going out” to “going in.”

At the signing, Wang Jin said this “is an important milestone in AITO Wenjie’s globalization strategy.” Syed Faiz Karim said that AITO Wenjie’s brand and technology “are highly aligned with the demands of the Middle East’s high-end market.” The statements from both executives actually point to the same fact: the high-end positioning and product strength of Chinese smart cars are gaining substantive recognition in mature overseas markets.

This cooperation is different from simple exporting. ADM has been rooted in the Middle East for 40 years, and it will be responsible for landing AITO Wenjie’s local sales, delivery, and service system, including even the construction of brand experience centers. This is equivalent to synchronizing the entire “high-end smart mobility” experience from China to the UAE.

It is worth noting that the Wenjie M9 has already held its ground in China’s high-end market for several consecutive months, and now in Dubai it has also begun test drives for local users. Vehicles were shipped to the port in advance, so they can be delivered as soon as they go on sale — consumers have not been kept waiting, and behind this is a whole set of localized preparations ranging from product adaptation and certification to channel coordination.

From “milestone” to “highly aligned,” from product going global to system going global, Chinese smart cars are entering, with solid steps, those markets that are equally sensitive to luxury and innovation. This path is not only about sales volume, but also about how the brand can truly win the right to speak on the world stage.
