On June 26, Jetour officially unveiled its all-new flagship model, the Traveler 8, at the Dunhuang Box Conference. Positioned as an "off-road travel flagship," the new vehicle was led in design by former Land Rover global design director Andrew and is expected to go on sale in the first half of 2027.

The Traveler 8 adopts a "532 golden dimensions" layout—over 5 meters long, over 2 meters wide, and with a wheelbase approaching 3 meters. The front fascia features a full-width "horizon light strip," with十字-shaped daytime running lights inside the headlamps on both sides; the side profile is boxy and uses a flush waterline design; the rear has an externally mounted storage "little backpack" and C-shaped taillights. The vehicle offers an exclusive custom matte gold color inspired by the golden sunrise over Namcha Barwa.

In terms of power, the Traveler 8 is equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, offering 300 km of CLTC pure electric range and a combined range exceeding 1,300 km. It features a new-generation XWD fully automatic intelligent four-wheel-drive system and an AI intelligent all-terrain recognition system, with a roof-mounted LiDAR and support for off-road NOA navigation assist.

Quick review:

With a former Land Rover design director at the helm, a 5-meter body, 300 km of pure electric range, 1,300 km of combined range, XWD intelligent four-wheel drive, and LiDAR—the Traveler 8 amounts to a fairly complete combination of strengths among rugged SUVs. However, it won't go on sale until 2027, and by then rivals in the same segment will likely have been updated for another round. In addition, referring to the Jetour Traveler's price range of 139,900 to 239,900 yuan, it remains to be seen whether the Traveler 8 will move toward 300,000 yuan; we'll wait for the official announcement. How much would you consider paying for this "domestic Range Rover"? Let's talk in the comments.
