On August 18, Mercedes-Benz officially released the official images of the new C-Class. The new car incorporates multiple design elements shared with the S-Class, with simultaneous upgrades to intelligent driving and the cabin.

In terms of exterior, the new C-Class debuts the same illuminated grille and star-emblem headlights as the S-Class, and the taillights have also been redesigned. When using keyless entry, the exterior rearview mirrors project a three-pointed star light pattern onto the ground. The wagon version was also unveiled at the same time.

The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch central touchscreen. The Burmester 3D surround sound system has 15 speakers and supports Dolby Atmos. The multifunction steering wheel returns to physical stalk and roller controls. The China-made version will integrate the Doubao AI large model.

Intelligent driving is the core change. The new car is built on the MB.OS architecture and supports full-vehicle OTA. For the Chinese market, Mercedes-Benz has jointly developed an urban and highway navigation-assisted driving system with Momenta. In the future, the China-made version will be equipped with Momenta R7 "World Model," supporting seamless assisted driving from parking space to parking space.

In terms of powertrain, it is equipped with the new 2.0T M254 EVO four-cylinder engine, paired with a second-generation ISG intelligent motor and a 48V mild hybrid system, which can provide an additional 17kW of power and 205N·m of torque. The C200 has a maximum power of 130kW, while the C300 reaches 190kW. The plug-in hybrid C400e 4MATIC has a combined power of 290kW and a WLTP pure electric range of 100km.

Quick comment:
With the S-Class's illuminated grille trickling down, Doubao AI entering the cabin, and Momenta R7 handling intelligent driving, this C-Class facelift has attached all three of the hottest labels. The steering wheel has finally reverted from touch controls back to physical buttons. The China-made version will have to wait until early 2027, and by then, how well this "physical AI" will perform is the biggest suspense.
