On October 29, the 2025 Tokyo Motor Show officially opened, and BYD's all-new K-Car model, the BYD RACCO, made its debut at the show. The new car adopts the "boxy" shape commonly seen in K-Car models, paired with BYD's three-electric system, and is expected to go on sale in the Japanese market in the summer of 2026.

In terms of exterior, the BYD RACCO adopts the "boxy" shape commonly seen in K-Car models. The short front and rear overhangs and long wheelbase design ensure interior space. The dual-layer C-shaped daytime running lights integrate the turn signal function. The rear passenger doors open in a sliding manner. The triangular window design on the A-pillar reduces blind spots, and the floating roof enhances the sense of style. The rear of the new car is equipped with ring-shaped taillights, and the brand logo in the center has a luminous effect. The body dimensions are 3395*1475*1800mm, with a seating capacity of 4 people.

In terms of power, the new car is expected to be equipped with a 20kWh BYD Blade Battery, offering a WLTC range of 180km. It adopts a front-wheel-drive layout, and the motor power has not yet been announced.

Dada Commentary: K-Car models are very popular in Japan. Their compact bodies can adapt to narrow road conditions and make it easier to find parking spaces in the city. Domestic K-Car models in Japan usually have an engine displacement of no more than 660ml, and the fuel cost of the vehicle is very low. The usage cost of an electrified K-Car is even lower, and the space utilization rate is higher than that of a fuel-powered K-Car. The BYD RACCO is a pure electric K-Car launched specifically for the Japanese market. Its exterior design has a strong sense of technology, and the dual A-pillar + triangular window design provides a clearer field of view. The estimated price is 2.6 million yen (about 121,000 yuan). The BYD RACCO has typical regional characteristics, and the domestic micro electric vehicle market is already saturated. Low-priced models such as the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV better meet the needs of domestic consumers, so the BYD RACCO is most likely not to be launched in the domestic market.
