On April 24, the all-new generation Lexus ES was officially launched. The new car is offered in only one model, the 300h hybrid version, priced at 299,900 yuan.

In terms of exterior, the all-new generation Lexus ES adopts a more technological and more three-dimensional design. The front face features richer styling elements. The original large spindle grille has become enclosed, the outline of the lightning-element daytime running lights is more defined, and the hood lines continue the zigzag styling of the light clusters. The front end looks more high-tech than the current model.

The new car features a black zigzag line on the lower half of the side body, making the side visual layers richer. It is equipped with hidden door handles and offers optional low-drag wheels. The through-type taillight at the rear of the new car is highly recognizable, and the upturned ducktail makes the rear look more dynamic. The body length of the new car has increased by 165 mm compared with the previous generation, and the wheelbase has been lengthened by 80 mm. While the body dimensions have grown, the exterior has become more youthful.

In terms of interior, the new car's central control screen and front passenger screen adopt a dual-screen design. A large number of physical buttons have been removed from the cabin, and after switching to touch buttons, it looks cleaner. The new car introduces a bamboo fragrance system for the first time. The driver's seat offers seat memory, heating, and ventilation functions, and it provides configurations such as a HUD head-up display, rear sunshade, Mark Levinson audio, and L2-level driver assistance.

In terms of power, the launched all-new generation ES 300h hybrid model's hybrid system consists of a 2.0L engine plus a high-power electric motor. Among them, the 2.0L engine has a maximum power of 112 kW, the electric motor has a maximum power of 83 kW, and the combined system power is 145 kW, matched with an E-CVT continuously variable transmission.
Dada review: The exterior of the all-new generation Lexus ES has undergone a subversive change. While retaining classic elements, the design is more aggressive. The "spindle" grille representing the fuel era has evolved into a "mecha electric" grille. Middle-aged customers are more divided over this change, while younger groups accept it more easily. The new car adds a "shrimp line"-style black zigzag line on the side, optimizing the aerodynamics of the side body and breaking the traditional waistline that pursues smoothness, resulting in a stronger sense of three-dimensionality. However, forcibly adding the black "shrimp line" cuts through the overall sense of unity and does not look as harmonious as the old model, and has been rated by netizens as "gilding the lily." The all-new generation Lexus ES is a product transitioning toward electrification. Its exterior design loses the brand's original Oriental restrained beauty, making it a design in which progress and controversy coexist.
