On August 31, Geely Automobile released the official exterior images of its new midsize-to-large SUV, the Geely Xingyue L PLUS. The company calls it a midsize-to-large flagship intelligent hybrid SUV, and it will be equipped with the Qianli Haohan H5 intelligent driving solution, offering both fuel and hybrid powertrain options, with body dimensions and a sense of luxury comprehensively surpassing the Xingyue L.

In terms of exterior design, the Xingyue L PLUS overall continues the design language of the current Xingyue L, with a vertical-slat grille at the front, and the grille and front bumper areas decorated with large areas of chrome material, giving it a luxurious and refined look. The new car is equipped with a lidar at the front of the roof, matched with the Qianli Haohan H5 intelligent driving solution.

The new car's side profile is steady and imposing, adopting traditional-style door handles, with chrome trim outlining the edges of the side windows, and "big dish" wheels highlighting a sense of prestige. The rear of the new car has a rounded shape, and chrome trim has also been added to the lower exhaust outlets, further enhancing the sense of luxury. The new car's length, width, and height are 4955x1960x1769mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2900mm.

In terms of power, the Xingyue L PLUS offers two powertrain options: pure fuel and gasoline-electric hybrid. The pure fuel version is equipped with a 2.0T engine, with a maximum power of 213kW and fuel consumption as low as 7.9L/100km. The gasoline-electric hybrid version is equipped with a 2.0T hybrid-dedicated engine and a 3DHT hybrid-dedicated transmission, focusing on low fuel consumption and smoothness.
Dada commentary: The Geely Xingyue L PLUS is built on the GEA-Evo architecture, focusing on fuel + HEV gasoline-electric hybrid. The gasoline-electric hybrid is a non-plug-in hybrid and cannot get a green license plate. The Xingyue L PLUS insists on a large five-seat body, with the increased dimensions all allocated to rear-seat and trunk space. The estimated price of the Xingyue L PLUS is in the 160,000-220,000 yuan range, and the top trim is expected to offer rear-wheel steering, forming a high-low pairing with the current Xingyue L to cover a larger consumer group. The HEV non-plug-in hybrid of the Xingyue L PLUS targets users who do not want to charge frequently and users who lack charging facilities but like large spaces, so they may keep an eye on this all-new midsize-to-large SUV.
