The automotive world in 2025 is way ahead of its time. As soon as January hit, things went absolutely wild, especially in the 100,000-yuan-class pure electric market, where it's a real battle of the titans.
Last night, GAC Aion UT's arrival at the table was like a "king bomb," pushing this whole spectacle to its climax.
The new car has a range of 420 km, comes in 6 low-saturation colors, and has 3 versions with presale prices of 89,800 to 109,800 yuan, roughly 10,000 yuan lower than previous industry estimates, plus a presale perk of 99 yuan offsetting 1,000 yuan of the final payment, making it extremely tempting.

Milan Haute Couture
In the public imagination, cars around 100k usually have an "honest, hardworking" practical face, but when the Aion UT appeared, it directly rubbed that stereotype into the ground.
The Aion UT's styling can be said to have serious pedigree. The entire vehicle design was handled by Stephen, a master from GAC's Milan studio, which is equivalent to haute couture origins from the "Milan Fashion Week" of the automotive world.

The cute bird-like big headlights are lively and playful, with a few more soul-stirring charms than the BMW MINI's round eyes. The daytime running lights, composed of 19 LED beads, have an ultra-high power of 62 watts, becoming the focal point the moment they light up and easily crushing ordinary daytime running lights on the market!
The floating roof is even more of a standout. With a contrasting color scheme plus D-pillar window design, just a few simple strokes outline a floating effect that combines tech feel and fashion sense. Compared with the MINI's "stagecoach roof," the Aion UT's individuality and visual impact are directly maxed out, like a tech sprite that traveled here from the future.
The Aion UT breaks convention, making even a commuter car under 100k a fashion trendsetter. Who could not love that?

It is worth mentioning that the Aion UT, starting at 80,000, and the million-level Maybach share something in common when it comes to paint materials. Aion officially stated that the Aion UT uses Maybach-level nano-scale color paste, and each paint color uses a different ratio of pearl mica and metal particles, presenting a very premium paint texture that instantly makes it "worth the ticket price."

Top-Tier Safety
At the presale event, an 8-ton shipping container was placed on top, and the Aion UT easily withstood it. This strength is simply outrageous! The body has 71% high-strength steel, even exceeding cars costing 300,000 to 400,000, with the same cage-type body design as the Volvo EX30, which can be said to reach the ceiling level of safety. In the 25% overlap rigid small offset crash test at 64 km/h, the A-pillar did not deform, the battery compartment remained intact, and the doors could open. This "above-standard" safety is very reassuring.
Battery safety is also outstanding. It uses the self-developed Magazine Battery, which does not catch fire even when shot, and in the "twist like a fried dough twist" deformation test, the battery cells showed no abnormality at all, with temperature steadily around 20°C. The technology is insanely impressive.

The class-exclusive V-shaped side curtain airbags extend from the A-pillar to the C-pillar, looking after everyone, especially women and children. The "fusion point detonation" system and "5-axis rollover calibration airbag controller" allow the airbags to deploy precisely and open 100% even during a rollover. It is also among the first batch of cars in the country with rollover protection, and the reverse anti-misstep system is a must-have for preventing distraction.

Comfort King
For products under 100k, wanting to carry a comfort label and precisely grasp user demands is actually very difficult. After all, costs are limited, especially in terms of space, which is constrained by dimensions and hard to make big and strong. But the Aion UT's "storage art" gives such a small car enough "dignity" for its users.
With a 2,750 mm wheelbase, larger than the Dolphin and Xingyuan, rear legroom of 905 mm and width up to 1,385 mm, sitting three people is easy, offering the sense of space of a 150k-200k car for under 100k.

The 440L trunk is also layered, making luggage storage super convenient. The threshold is as low as 685 mm, so mothers can load and unload strollers without pressure. There are 30 storage compartments inside the car, fitting all kinds of odds and ends. In particular, the semi-open design of the central armrest area really hits women's sweet spot. A hidden storage box can hold any little secret.

The configuration is also top-notch. The front and rear rows can both fold flat to instantly become a large bed room. A panoramic sunroof plus electric sunshade is stylish and sun-protective. The entire lineup comes standard with a heat pump and dual-flow air conditioning, warm in winter and cool in summer.

The 14.6-inch central control screen plus 8.8-inch instrument cluster combination is the largest in its class. With an ultra-high resolution of 1920*1080p, it comes standard with a 3A film, anti-fingerprint and anti-glare. It supports mainstream phone connectivity, and CarPlay, Carlink, and HiCar can all connect. The ADiGO voice interaction system allows many functions to be accessed directly by voice, and it is very easy to use.
High-Speed Takeoff
The Aion UT may become the first car under 100k that can "take off" on the highway. Usually this class uses 195 mm narrow tires and feels floaty at high speed, but the Aion UT uses 215 mm wide tires across the lineup, with super stable grip. Its moose test result is 75 km/h, No.1 in its class, and with the 100 kW Quark electric drive, acceleration and overtaking are easily handled.

Moreover, the rolling resistance of these wide tires is only 5.2 per thousand, the lowest in the world. Combined with Aion's superb three-electric system and thermal management, the range reaches 420 km, and charging is fast too, taking only 24 minutes from 30% to 80%.
Final Thoughts
The emotional value a car can bring is sometimes truly hard to imagine.
The Aion UT successfully led new energy vehicles under 100k from the "commuting era" into the "premium era," with "breakaway-leading" ultra-strong competitiveness, dominating the 80,000 to 100,000 yuan auto market and preordaining itself as the first breakout hit of the 2025 car market.
