On May 20, the first model of Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën Automobile's new energy brand "HEDMOS" — the HEDMOS 06 — was officially launched. The official guide price is 125,800 yuan, with a limited-time early-bird price of 108,800 yuan (orders must be placed before June 15), and it offers purchase benefits such as trade-in subsidies and complimentary charging piles. The car is positioned as a compact all-electric SUV with a CLTC range of 520 kilometers, featuring a differentiated approach of "French chassis handling DNA + Chinese three-electric technology," attempting to seek a breakthrough in the 100,000-150,000 yuan new energy market.

In terms of exterior design, the HEDMOS 06 continues the design language of the Dongfeng Aeolus SKY EV01, adopting a semi-closed front face paired with slim LED headlight clusters. The through-type air intake and deflectors in the lower bumper reinforce the sporty feel. The side features a dual waistline design with hidden door handles, while the rear adopts a through-type taillight and floating roof design, giving the overall style a clean and sporty character. The body dimensions are 4,670/1,900/1,617 mm with a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. Its width and wheelbase have advantages in its class, with rear legroom approaching three fists and a trunk that can be expanded to a maximum of 1,806 liters, offering strong practicality.

In terms of interior design, the new car's overall layout focuses on minimalist technology, equipped with a 14.6-inch floating central control screen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supporting full-scenario voice interaction (including Cantonese, Sichuan dialect, and other dialects) as well as HiCar/CarPlay/Carlink phone connectivity. The cabin uses a combination of faux leather materials and wood-grain trim panels. The driver's seat is equipped with heating, ventilation, and memory functions, and features such as a panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, and in-car fragrance system come standard. However, the scarcity of physical buttons and reliance on touchscreen operation may present a learning curve for some users.

In terms of equipment, the HEDMOS 06 positions "standard equipment as fully loaded" as its selling point. The entire lineup comes with an L2-level advanced driver assistance system, including full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, 360° panoramic camera, and other functions, and is equipped with the pioneering E-CLDRivë intelligent control system, which alleviates electric vehicle acceleration dizziness through dynamic torque distribution algorithms. Compared with the competitor Toyota bZ3X, it has advantages in motor power, rear suspension type (multi-link vs. torsion beam), and comfort features such as seat ventilation and heating.

In terms of powertrain, the new car adopts a front-mounted single-motor layout with a maximum power of 160 kW, 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.9 seconds, matched with a 62.36 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, and energy consumption of 13.6 kWh per 100 kilometers. In fast-charging mode, 30%-80% charge takes 28 minutes, and it supports 3.3 kW external discharge. The chassis is tuned by the Peugeot-Citroën team, with front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension combined with CLDR racing-grade optimization. The spring vibration frequency is controlled at 1.21-1.41 Hz. In actual driving, steering is responsive and body roll suppression in corners is good, but the shortcoming is that the new car does not feature an 800V high-voltage platform.

In terms of target users, the HEDMOS 06 mainly targets family users with a budget of 100,000-150,000 yuan who value spatial practicality and driving quality, especially consumers who prefer French chassis tuning. Existing owners of French-brand vehicles can enjoy a 10,000 yuan trade-in subsidy, but given the declining market recognition of the Dongfeng Peugeot-Citroën brand in recent years, its appeal may come more from cost-effectiveness than brand loyalty. Competitor models include the BYD Yuan PLUS (starting at 135,800 yuan), Geely Galaxy E5 (starting at 107,800 yuan), AION Y (starting at 109,800 yuan), and Toyota bZ3X (starting at 129,800 yuan). By comparison, the HEDMOS 06 creates differentiated competition through its wheelbase, equipment richness, and chassis tuning, but its brand recognition and channel network coverage fall short of leading domestic brands.
Overall, the HEDMOS 06 attempts to carve out a differentiated path in the homogenized new energy competition by integrating French chassis handling DNA with localized Chinese intelligent features. Combined with its solid cost-effectiveness, it is believed to bring a certain impact to the segment, but whether it can break through the awareness bottleneck of a new brand may still require observation of subsequent user reputation and channel service capabilities.
