A car has driven from the market into a national first-class museum.

On October 19, the Beijing Automotive Museum officially issued a collection certificate to Voyah, making the Voyah Dreamer 9 the first high-end MPV to be collected by this national-level museum. At the "Design Heritage · Imagining the Future" Designers' Night, several generations of Chinese automotive designers discussed automotive heritage and innovation.

A new name on the collection list

As a national first-class museum, every item in the Beijing Automotive Museum's collection corresponds to a key node in the automotive industry's progress. What is collected here is not simply merchandise, but samples that record the level of the automotive industry in a given era.

For the high-end MPV category, this is the first time it has been included in a national-level industrial museum. The design language, technical route, and product direction represented by the Voyah Dreamer 9 have been placed into the narrative of Chinese automobiles moving from following to defining.

As the world's first MPV equipped with a retractable standing emblem, the Dreamer 9 does not simply stretch and add features to a foreign luxury MPV template. The "Kunpeng Soaring the Clouds" standing emblem, the Ziwei Star Pavilion headlights, and the dragon-scale trim pieces—the entire vehicle takes "Heaven, Earth, and the Starry River" as its design concept, weaving the imagery of mountains and rivers and the philosophy of the stars into the body—this is a luxury MPV design language that belongs to the Chinese people themselves.

From Twin Swallows to Kunpeng Soaring the Clouds

Chinese automotive design has traveled a long road. From the earliest learning and imitation, to technology absorption during the joint-venture stage, and now to original definition under the window of opportunity opened by new energy, the rhythm has shifted bit by bit. In the era of fuel vehicles, we traded market for technology; in the electrification and intelligentization stage, China has built a complete industrial chain from the three electric systems to chips and software.

At the Designers' Night, Zhu Tao, former president of the China Industrial Design Association, director of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the China Industrial Design Association, and member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, outlined the path from a manufacturing power to a design power. Dongfeng automotive designer Ai Dekun recounted the old story of Dongfeng's "Twin Swallows"—Dongfeng brings warmth, and swallows herald spring; looking again at Voyah's "Kunpeng Soaring the Clouds" today, the image has changed, the era has changed, but the path of seeking answers from one's own culture has never been broken.

Xu Lin, senior design director of Voyah, explained that the design origin of the Voyah Dreamer 9 is to give the world a flagship MPV that belongs to China, rather than improving on the template of foreign luxury cars. Eastern aesthetics is no longer about pasting a few Chinese-style patterns, but has been integrated into body proportions, functional logic, and interaction details—visible and tangible.

200,000 users and a pressure-bearing test

Museum collection is an honor, but the market is the real foundation.

After four years of iteration, the Voyah Dreamer has captured the "triple crown" in sales, reputation, and quality, forming a new energy MPV family covering the 300,000 to 700,000 yuan market and accumulating more than 200,000 users. The long-standing dominance of the high-end MPV market by foreign brands has been broken by a Chinese high-end brand.

Hardcore testing forges confidence. The Voyah Dreamer 9 completed the world's first passenger vehicle whole-vehicle pressure-bearing mobile challenge, traveling 35 meters under a 10.8-meter-high stacked tower and 18.1 tons of pressure. After the pressure was released, all doors opened normally and the body had no deformation. The cage body, battery protection, and active safety coordination are not numbers on a specification sheet, but a concentrated manifestation of systematic capability. At the same time, the Voyah Dreamer 9 completed the passenger vehicle double-layer stacked midair split challenge, with four Voyah Dreamer 9 vehicles traveling in parallel through speed bumps, visually testing the stability of the vehicle body structure and the Huju chassis P, demonstrating solid mechanical quality and comprehensive whole-vehicle strength.

From the "triple crown" to a national-level museum, from the reputation votes of more than 200,000 users to the hardcore verification of extreme testing, this MPV that has been collected by a museum has become a concrete footprint on the upward path of Chinese brands. In this museum that records 140 years of world automotive industry history, it will be placed together with treasures collected across the ages—how Chinese automobiles got here and where they will go next are all written on this car.
