On October 1st, the 2025 refreshed Model 3 quietly went on sale like this, with the price not moving a single cent, starting at 235,500 yuan.
Officially, it was called a "refresh," but after digging through information for quite a while, Nianhan I feel Tesla is getting more and more, you know, like that. Rather than calling it a summary, it's more like a small annual update, not a big deal.

Hold on, is it just that my personal expectations for this car were too high?
This time there are mainly two changes, and Nianhan I'll point them out one by one for the car friends:
First, the front and rear badges have both been "blacked out." Tesla has really mastered this trend, and it does look a bit cooler, but that's about it.

Second, and most importantly, there's an extra camera at the front bumper.
Remember! This camera is the key.

The refreshed Model Y previously added this thing, saying it can provide a wider field of view for assisted driving and can clean itself.
Put plainly, it's to fill in the blind spots of the vision-only approach. Previously, relying purely on the few cameras by the windshield, the view directly below the front of the car did have some issues.
Now with this added, when parking or activating "Smart Summon," you can feel a bit more at ease.
But here's the problem: how much does this thing actually help FSD? Can existing owners have it retrofitted? Tesla didn't say. This really leaves people feeling uneasy...

The price hasn't changed, and there's an extra camera in the configuration, so it feels like a big bargain.
But I think we need to lift our heads and look at today's market environment.
What's the momentum of the Xiaomi SU7 right now? Deliveries are climbing fast, and CEO Lei recently said deliveries had surpassed 150,000 units. The August sales figures were also scary, shooting straight to the top of the list.

There's also the Zeekr ZEEKR 007, with a guide price starting at 209,900 yuan, very strong product capabilities, and sales steadily rising. Its threat to the Model 3 is not small at all.
Looking at it this way, the Model 3's "more for the same price" this time feels a bit passive. It doesn't feel like a proactive upgrade, but more like a response to competitors pressing step by step.
The interior, powertrain, and other core aspects have basically not changed.
Still the same familiar formula, minimalist interior, one big screen handles everything.

The powertrain options are still the same few, rear-wheel drive, long-range, and Performance versions, and the range is the same as the old model, ranging from 634 kilometers to 830 kilometers.
These foundations are indeed good, and Tesla's electronic control and energy consumption management have always been its strengths.
But to be honest, the sense of freshness is indeed fading.
So, my suggestion is, buying the 2025 Model 3 now, with an extra camera and no price increase, is pretty good.
But if you're an owner of the old model, switching cars just for this small change is really unnecessary, because it's not quite worth it.

Tesla's upgrade this time is more like a defensive move. Facing fierce attacks from competitors like Xiaomi and Zeekr, it has to do something to steady its position.
But relying only on one camera and black badges, is that enough? Personally, I think the effort is still a bit small.
The manufacturer still needs to offer upgrades with more sincerity, otherwise relying only on brand halo, the road will only get narrower and narrower.
Alright, that's all for today.
What do you all think of this upgrade to the 2025 Model 3? Does this front camera appeal to you?
Chat in the comments section, would you choose it, or would you look at the neighboring Xiaomi SU7 or Zeekr 007?
