On May 16, He Xiaopeng unveiled the exterior images of the all-new generation P7, internally codenamed E29. As a classic model under the brand, this generational upgrade has attracted significant market attention. It is reported that the new car will officially go on sale in the second half of this year. The currently available P7i model is priced between 249,900 and 289,900 yuan, providing a reference point for the pricing of the all-new model.

From the released official images, the all-new P7 adopts a new style in its design language. Different from the streamlined style of the current model, the new car features a combination of a full-width light band and vertical daytime running lights. The headlight cluster at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical light bands, together with the prominent front lip of the front bumper, creates a more futuristic and sporty look. The fastback profile, paired with a re-optimized roofline and X-shaped wheels, cleverly combines aerodynamics with visual tension. Particularly noteworthy is that the high-trim version of the all-new P7 may be equipped with an electric retractable rear spoiler, which is rarely seen in models of the same class.

In terms of intelligent configurations, although the official details have not yet been announced, speculation based on information previously revealed by XPeng at the 2025 X9 launch event suggests that the all-new P7 is expected to become the first model equipped with the Turing AI chip. Notably, the car is not equipped with a LiDAR, which means it will adopt a pure vision-based advanced driver assistance system. According to industry analysts, with the powerful computing capability of the new-generation AI chip, the new car may achieve breakthroughs in driver assistance functions and is expected to support NGP in urban and highway scenarios.

From a market positioning perspective, the all-new P7 continues the sporty coupe positioning of the P7i, forming a differentiated layout with the more family-oriented P7+. Since the current P7i went on sale in March 2023, it has undergone multiple configuration upgrades. The latest P7+ model, with its accessible pricing of 186,800 to 218,800 yuan, achieved sales of 31,276 units in the first four months of 2025, becoming the brand's new sales mainstay. However, the current P7 series shows an obvious market divergence, with the regular P7 version recording only 751 units in the same period, which makes the market performance of the all-new generational model highly anticipated.

As a cornerstone model for XPeng, the P7 series has surpassed cumulative sales of 100,000 units since its launch in 2020. Whether this generational change can recapture the market enthusiasm of the first-generation product will depend on the balance between final pricing and technological configurations. Currently, the industry is widely focused on whether the new car, while maintaining its sporty DNA, will bring more surprises in areas such as range and intelligent cabin. As the launch date approaches, more technical details are worth continued attention.
