SAIC-GM Buick officially launched the new Buick E5 on June 19. As a facelifted model positioned as a mid-to-large all-electric SUV, three versions are offered this time: the 515KM Pioneer Edition, 545KM Smart Edition, and 620KM Prestige Edition, with official fixed prices of 149,900 yuan, 159,900 yuan, and 169,900 yuan. The most notable change is concentrated in the front fascia, which adopts Buick's latest PURE Design language, eliminating the old model's grille shape reminiscent of traditional fuel vehicles and complex trim, resulting in a cleaner and more refreshing overall visual effect. The high-gloss black lower surround contrasts with the available body colors, adding a touch of sportiness. The side profile and rear silhouette largely continue the old model's full-bodied volume, with only minor adjustments to the wheel design while dimensions remain unchanged at 4892/1905/1684mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2954mm.

Inside, the new E5 offers only one color scheme, "Deep Ink," but adds white stitching on the seats and door panels to enhance detail quality. The cabin's core highlight is the standard 30-inch integrated curved 6K screen and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip across all trims, ensuring basic smoothness of infotainment interaction. The layout is consistent with the old model, retaining necessary physical climate buttons while adopting hidden air vents, resulting in a clean and practical overall style. The core differences among the three versions lie in battery capacity and range, as well as the corresponding configuration ladder. The entry-level version trims some comfort and convenience features, such as the absence of multiple power functions for the exterior mirrors, power tailgate, heated steering wheel, leather seats, and front seat heating; the mid-range version basically restores these commonly used features; the top version additionally offers a 14-speaker BOSE audio system, eco-friendly skin-friendly leather seats, and an openable panoramic sunroof.

In terms of powertrain, the new E5 continues with a single motor producing a maximum power of 180kW (245 hp) and peak torque of 330 N·m, meeting daily driving needs. All versions are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, and their fast-charging capability is a practical highlight; official data shows that in DC fast-charging mode, charging from 30% to 80% takes only 19 minutes, while AC slow charging requires about 10.3 hours. Within this price range, consumers can also choose all-electric mid-to-large SUVs including the Leapmotor C16 (from 151,800 yuan), Exeed Sterra ET (from 172,800 yuan), and Dongfeng eπ008 (from 178,600 yuan). Based on market performance from January to May this year, the Leapmotor C16 and Dongfeng eπ008 lead in sales, while the Buick E5 shows room for improvement.
