On June 26, SAIC-GM Buick officially launched the all-new generation GL8 Land Business Class. The new model currently offers only one "Xianxiang Edition" configuration, with an official guide price of 229,900 yuan. As a long-standing popular model in the domestic MPV market, its body length reaches 5219mm and its wheelbase is 3088mm, continuing the GL8 series' traditional advantage in space. The interior seats adopt a 2+2+3 seven-seat layout, which is a common practical layout in this class.
The exterior design adopts Buick's current PURE Design family language. The front-end styling is more concise, and the trapezoidal front grille has increased in size, giving a more substantial visual effect. The headlamp assembly adopts an integrated design, and the front bumper is paired with a full-width chrome trim strip, enhancing the detail texture. The interior changes are relatively obvious, equipped with dual 12-inch connected screens. The driver and front passenger seats feature a through-floor design, and the center console area has switched to a column shifter design, freeing up space in the original gear lever area for placing devices such as wireless phone chargers.
In terms of configuration, the new car adds a right-side power sliding door, power-folding/heated exterior mirrors, a physical control panel for rear independent air conditioning, and other features, better meeting the practical needs of family or business scenarios. The powertrain is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 174 kW and peak torque of 350 N·m, matched to a 9AT transmission. This powertrain combination has already been applied in multiple Buick models, and its reliability and fuel economy performance have a reference basis. The rear suspension structure has been upgraded from the previous non-independent type to a multi-link independent suspension, which helps improve ride comfort and handling stability, especially during long-distance driving or under more complex road conditions.
In summary, the all-new GL8 Land Business Class has been updated in exterior design, interior technological feel and practicality, as well as the core rear suspension structure. The core positioning of this model still focuses on meeting the needs of family or business user groups with higher requirements for passenger space and ride comfort.
