Geely Automobile officially announced that the new Geely ICON will be officially launched on July 11. The new car is positioned as a small SUV, with a body length of 4350mm and a wheelbase of 2640mm. It will be offered in two configurations, with official pre-sale prices of 90,800 yuan and 96,800 yuan respectively.

In terms of exterior, the new car is similar to the current model, with a rather avant-garde front-end style and a split headlight design. The flat daytime running lights are connected by black trim to create a continuous effect, the high and low beams are positioned lower, and the grille is a rounded rectangle decorated internally with black trim panels and chrome strips. The side features a floating roof design, a segmented waistline design, the hidden door handles have been removed, and it is equipped with black wheel arches and side skirt trim. The rear is accented with smoked taillights and a black lower surround, equipped with a small spoiler, and the exhaust is in a hidden layout.

In terms of interior, it is equipped with the FlymeAuto infotainment system, the dual-screen design has been removed, and it features a three-spoke steering wheel, electronic gear shifter, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a 14.6-inch floating central control screen. The addition of the FlymeAuto system will significantly improve the infotainment system's operational smoothness and functionality.

The powertrain remains unchanged, continuing to carry Geely's 1.5TD high-efficiency power system, with a maximum power of 181 horsepower and peak torque of 290N·m, matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and WLTC combined fuel consumption of approximately 6.3L per 100 kilometers. The chassis will adopt an independent suspension combination of front MacPherson + rear multi-link.

In the current market, gasoline small SUVs with price ranges close to the Geely ICON include models such as the GAC Trumpchi GS3 Emzoom and Dongfeng Honda XR-V. Facing fierce competition, while the new ICON upgrades the FlymeAuto infotainment system to enhance product strength, its final pricing strategy is also drawing attention. Whether the new ICON can achieve a better market response after its launch on July 11 remains to be seen.
