On August 27, Volvo Asia Pacific officially unveiled the all-new XC70, with pre-sale prices for the two trim levels set at 299,900 yuan and 329,900 yuan respectively. As the first model built on the SMA hybrid architecture, the new vehicle is positioned between the XC60 and XC90, with body dimensions of 4,815/1,890/1,650 mm in length, width and height, and a wheelbase of 2,895 mm, placing it in the mid-to-large SUV segment. It is understood that the new vehicle received more than 5,000 pre-orders within 85 minutes of pre-sales opening, and is scheduled for an official market launch on September 26.

In terms of exterior design, the all-new XC70 continues Volvo's minimalist styling language for electrified models. Its front fascia features a closed-off grille design, paired with split-type headlights and the brand's signature Thor's Hammer daytime running lights, with an active air intake grille positioned below. At the rear, the Viking Axe-shaped LED taillights are retained, with the license plate relocated lower to keep the overall visual clean. The new vehicle will be offered in six body colors, including Crystal White, Fjord Sand, and Pine Lake Green.

Stepping inside, the new vehicle adopts a minimalist interior design, equipped with a 15.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and a 92-inch AR-HUD head-up display. The center armrest supports an extendable function, and the cup holders feature a sliding design, providing flexible storage space. The vehicle is also equipped with a 23-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, including 2 speakers embedded in the driver's headrest. The infotainment system offers a scene assistant function with six preset modes, such as commuting and rapid heating/cooling adjustment, and also supports external power discharge, remote control, and remote parking assist.

In terms of the powertrain, the XC70 is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and a P1+P2+P4 three-motor setup, matched with a 3DHT hybrid-specific transmission. The system's combined output reaches 340 kW, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 5.28 seconds. The battery uses a mixed-cell solution with a capacity of 39.6 kWh, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 200 km and a combined range of up to 1,200 km. Under fast-charging conditions, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 23 minutes.

As a classic model name in Volvo's SUV lineup, the XC70 continues the brand's design language while also reflecting Volvo's product strategy in its electrification transition. Currently, Volvo's SUV lineup in China includes the XC90, XC60, XC40, and EX30, and the addition of the XC70 is expected to further enrich its product range.
