At the 2025 Chengdu Auto Show, SAIC Volkswagen officially launched the new Lamando L, comprising three configuration models, with an official guide price range of 150,900-195,900 yuan and a current limited-time price of 119,900-135,900 yuan. As a mid-cycle facelift model, this update mainly focuses on exterior details, interior configuration, and the powertrain system, and for the first time introduces a GTS version equipped with a 2.0T engine.

In terms of exterior, the new car continues the overall styling of the current model, with a large-size intake grille design on the front face, interior trim updated to "L"-shaped chrome elements, and corresponding adjustments to the front bumper and light clusters. The daytime running lights integrate an illuminated logo, with a through-type design connecting the headlights on both sides, and the hood lines slightly cover the upper part of the light clusters. Body dimensions remain unchanged, with length, width, and height of 4791/1831/1469mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2731mm. The side still adopts a frameless door and liftback tailgate design, a configuration relatively rare among fuel vehicles at the same price point. At the rear, pulse-style streaming LED taillights have been fitted, supporting sequential turn signals, the rear bumper styling has been slightly adjusted, and the exhaust system remains in a hidden layout.

The new car offers five body colors, including Bohemian Gray and Cyber Gray. Notably, the newly added GTS version features a comprehensive blacked-out sport package, covering a blackened grille, exterior mirrors, door handles, and badges, and adopts a dual-exit exhaust layout on both sides, with red GTS lettering added to the tail badge. Meanwhile, during the auto show, the official also released a player modification vehicle plan, establishing a million-yuan modification fund, and displayed officially modified versions of the model, providing consumers with more personalized choices.

Inside the cabin, the new Lamando L is equipped with a new 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch central control screen, featuring the 8155 cockpit chip. The AI voice assistant integrates ERNIE large model and DeepSeek deep thinking capabilities, supports iFlytek voice system, has built-in applications such as Kuwo Music and Ximalaya, and is compatible with CarPlay, CarLife, and HUAWEI HiCar connectivity. In terms of driving assistance, the new car offers functions such as lane centering, ACC adaptive cruise, IPA parking assist, and RPA remote parking assist.

The powertrain change is the focus of this facelift. The new car replaces the original 1.4T engine with a 1.5T EVOⅡ engine, with a maximum power of 118kW and maximum torque of 250N·m, matched to a 7-speed dry dual-clutch transmission, and the fuel injection system pressure increased to 350bar. Since the Lamando series was launched in 2015, it once achieved a market performance of 20,000 units sold per month, but in recent years sales have declined due to the lack of a timely model change. After the launch of the new-generation Lamando L in March 2022, sales have remained at an average of about 2,000 units per month. The adjustments in price and configuration in this facelift may bring new market opportunities for the model.
