On November 26, the 2026 Volkswagen Magotan B9 was officially launched. The new car is offered in five configuration models, with an official guide price range of 179,900 yuan to 246,900 yuan. As the first annual facelift of the ninth-generation Magotan, its focus is not on innovations in exterior or interior styling, but mainly on practical adjustments to functional equipment.

In terms of appearance, the new car fully continues the design language of the current B9. The front face still features integrated IQ.Light headlight units incorporating an illuminated logo, the body sides retain traditional door handles, and the rear has a full-width taillight design. Its body dimensions are unchanged, with length, width, and height still at 4990/1854/1487 mm and a wheelbase of 2871 mm.

Inside, the signature screen layout remains the same, with higher-trim models offering a combination of three screens. One notable change is that the steering wheel buttons across the entire lineup have been changed from touch-sensitive controls back to physical buttons, intended to provide more definite operational feedback. Complementing this, wireless phone charging power has been increased from 15 watts to 40 watts to meet faster charging needs. In addition to the existing connectivity functions, the infotainment system now adds support for Huawei HiCar.

Another core aspect of this facelift lies in the improvement of intelligent capabilities. Its driver assistance system has been upgraded to the enhanced IQ.Pilot, which is claimed to enable highway and expressway NOA, covering scenarios such as automatic on- and off-ramp driving, overtaking and lane changes, and in urban areas can recognize traffic lights for going straight and control start-stop (going straight), avoid obstacles in construction zones, and evade vehicles crossing lane lines. The infotainment system has also introduced large language model technology, aiming to improve the naturalness and functional scope of voice interaction.

While adding new functions, the model has also made adjustments to some equipment. For example, some higher-trim models add a Bluetooth digital key, but the full-vehicle keyless entry function has been adjusted to front row only. In addition, features such as AQS automatic air quality control and PM2.5 value display have been removed from the new model.

The powertrain still offers two choices, 1.5T and 2.0T. The 300TSI model is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 118 kW; the 380TSI model is equipped with a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 162 kW, matched respectively with 7-speed dry and wet dual-clutch transmissions.
