On January 27, BAIC Off-Road officially released multiple new models in the 2026 BJ40 series, covering both fuel and range-extender powertrain forms and offering differentiated configuration choices for different usage scenarios. At the same time, the Range-Extender Yueye Flight Edition has also opened for pre-sale, with a pre-sale price of 247,800 yuan. The Range-Extender Chitu Edition can be regarded as a deeply modified off-road version from the factory, featuring an exclusive Flame Red paint finish and decals on the exterior, and equipped with practical gear such as extended wheel arches, aluminum alloy side steps, a high-intake snorkel, nitrogen shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, and a roof platform. With the kit installed, its body dimensions reach 4,861 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,110 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,760 mm, a maximum wading depth of 835 mm, and a 40-degree approach angle. Inside, it is equipped with dual 15.6-inch central control and front passenger entertainment screens, powered by a Qualcomm 8155 chip. The powertrain consists of a 1.5T range extender and front and rear dual motors, with the front motor producing 153 kW and the rear motor 250 kW. Under CLTC standards, the pure electric range is approximately 150 kilometers, with a combined range of 1,180 kilometers. The newly added Fuel Giant Screen Edition mainly features enhanced interior technological appeal, with dual 15.6-inch floating connected screens standard across the lineup and an upgraded second-generation 8155 vehicle chip. In terms of power, it continues to offer 2.0T gasoline and 2.0T diesel engine options, with the gasoline engine producing a maximum power of 180 kW, matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and depending on configuration, offering part-time or on-demand four-wheel drive systems as well as options for multiple differential locks. Another model, the Range-Extender Yueye Flight Edition, has as its core feature an integrated drone storage compartment on the roof, supporting voice control and one-touch operation, aimed at expanding the perspectives and possibilities of outdoor exploration. Its powertrain is similar to that of the Chitu Edition, with a combined system power of 403 kW and a CLTC combined range rating of 1,200 kilometers. Overall, the update of the 2026 BJ40 family, while continuing the classic "boxy" styling and rugged off-road architecture, seeks a new balance between traditional off-road capability and contemporary technological experience by offering factory modification options, strengthening in-car screens and intelligent interaction, and introducing drone expansion functionality.
