Commentary: The all-new long-wheelbase all-electric GLC SUV is an important practice in Mercedes-Benz's electrification transformation. It abandons the previous transitional approach of converting combustion-engine vehicles to electric in the EQ series and is built on the MB.EA dedicated electric vehicle platform developed specifically for electric vehicles. The standard-wheelbase version previously launched overseas has already demonstrated the technical potential of this platform. With the combination of an 800-volt high-voltage architecture, silicon carbide inverters, and a two-speed transmission, it achieves a WLTP range of 713 kilometers and 330 kW DC fast charging capability, adding 303 kilometers of range in 10 minutes of charging. The core powertrain technology solution is expected to continue, with specific configurations subject to the official release. The domestic version's battery supplier is CATL, and the 89 kWh battery pack provides range figures of 680 kilometers and 703 kilometers under CLTC conditions, placing it among the higher levels in the current all-electric SUV market.
